Echo-Blocks

Echo-Blocks provide a unique way to connect the purpose of your project with the design of its architecture and the landscape. These custom fabricated architectural terra cotta blocks feature patterns, images, and/or text to integrate specific visual elements related to your project. Choose from stock pieces or customize your own images.

Use Echo-Blocks as a focus to a building's entrance for signage, wayfinding, or corporate identity. Reinforce a key concept by using the blocks as a continuous linear band. Echo-Blocks are for interior and exterior application, and can be used both structurally and ornamentally.

Architectural Echo-Blocks Project

Raccoon River Nature Lodge
West Des Moines, IA

A continuous linear band of custom designed echo blocks runs throughout interior of the Raccoon River Nature Lodge at a height that marks the water level of the Great Iowa Flood in 1993.The Raccoon River Nature Lodge, located in Raccoon River Park in West Des Moines, IA, is a unique space for various gatherings in a natural setting. Echo-Blocks originated as a custom solution for this project. They were created in two patterns: one with images of a cracked river bed and the other with cottonwood leaves and branches. A continuous linear band of the custom design Echo-Blocks runs throughout the exterior and interior of the building at a height that marks the water level of the Great Iowa Flood in 1993.
